About Solina

I am a Highly Sensitive Person and I enjoy working with clients who identify with this trait. I didn’t always see this trait of mine as a strength, but I have grown to love my sensitivity. It allows me to understand my clients on a deep emotional level. I also find that my ability to pick up on subtleties, my intuition, and my immense amount of empathy, allow for my clients to experience new levels of insight that support growth and progress towards their goals.

I grew up with family members who lived with mental health conditions. As a young person I wanted to understand how this affected them, their moods, and the relationships around them. A high school summer school class turned me on to psychology and I knew right away that dedicating my education and my career path to the growth and healing of people and their relationships was what I wanted to do.

I am a graduate of the University of San Francisco and have my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. I spent most of the last decade in the Bay Area, working in a variety of different settings while collecting hours and requirements towards my Marriage and Family Therapy license. I have valued my time working with individual adults and couples in a counseling clinic, with high school students in both public and non-public school settings, with children and adolescents in a residential treatment facility, and with families receiving public health services. Those years of experience in different counseling settings have led me to love and appreciate my last few years in private practice settings. I am now living back home in Los Angeles and loving that teletherapy has allowed me to keep seeing clients from northern California as well as form new therapeutic relationships with more local clients in southern California. Please reach out if you’d like to talk!
