I believe that our well being is greatly affected by our early childhood experiences and the relationships we form with ourselves and others. In our work together, I will strive to create a relationship in which you feel valued, seen, and heard in a way that can lead to a greater understanding of yourself and how you relate to the people and world around you. I also prioritize exploring the culture and family of origin that you come from in order to grasp a more full picture of your experiences. I will help you strengthen your capacity to sit with uncomfortable emotions, to grow your ability to meet yourself with kindness, and to help you identify and break cycles of unhealthy patterns, in relationships with others and yourself.
We might be a great fit if you struggle to practice self-compassion, if your inner critic is loud and harsh, and/or if you want to become more aware of relationship patterns that aren’t working for you. I work integratively, using a Client-Centered and Relational style, while pulling from evidence-based therapies tailored to fit each person’s needs. These include modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness based practices, and Harm Reduction strategies.
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, what kind of support you are looking for and to get a feel for if we are a “good fit” and would work comfortably together. During this call we will also discuss fees and scheduling.
